About Wallaby Preschool & Daycare
Wallaby Preschool & Daycare started with a simple belief: young children do better when the people caring for them actually know them. Here’s the story behind that belief, the family carrying it forward, and what it looks like in our classrooms every day.
Our Story
Wallaby Preschool & Daycare was established in 2018 by Kelly Wall, who has spent more than 20 years managing and creating preschools. After two decades of child development training and hands-on experience in early education, Kelly set out to build the kind of preschool she actually wanted for her own kids — intimate, relationship-centered, and rooted in trust.
That’s still what Wallaby is today: a small, Southeast Boise preschool and daycare that never grew into a franchise or a corporate chain, because that was never the point.
Our Philosophy
We believe young children learn best through relationships first, structure second. A child who feels safe and known will take risks, ask questions, and try things again after getting them wrong — and that’s where real learning happens.
Kelly’s favorite children’s book, The Kissing Hand, sums up the idea well: comfort and confidence go together. A child who feels heard is a child who’s ready to explore, and that belief still shapes every classroom decision at Wallaby, from group size to how we handle a hard drop-off.
Led by Experience, Backed by a Caring Team
With more than 20 years of experience managing and creating preschools, Kelly Wall brings a deep passion for early childhood education and a commitment to creating a nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and feel at home.
Through ongoing child development training and years of hands-on experience, Kelly designed Wallaby to be the kind of preschool she wanted for her own children — intimate, relationship-centered, and built on trust.
At Wallaby, we believe that children thrive when they feel safe, supported, and genuinely cared for. Every detail of our preschool is thoughtfully designed to create a warm environment where children can build confidence, develop meaningful relationships, and enjoy learning.
30+ Years of Combined Early Childhood Experience
Your child is cared for by a dedicated and highly trained team with more than 30 years of combined early childhood experience.
Our team includes a certified teacher, along with one teacher currently studying Early Childhood Education, bringing an additional level of expertise, attentiveness, and care.
Together, our team is committed to giving every child the individual attention, encouragement, and nurturing support they need to feel confident and thrive.
Wallaby isn't trying to be the biggest preschool in Boise. We're trying to be the one where your child is truly known.
