Curriculum & Learning

What your child is actually doing all day.

Pre-K at Wallaby covers early literacy, number concepts, problem-solving, independence, and social development, all tracked toward kindergarten readiness benchmarks.

Wallaby teaches primarily through play and hands-on learning centers, weaving literacy, math, and STEM concepts into everyday activities rather than worksheets.

Wallaby exceeds Idaho’s required staff-to-child ratios, averaging about 6:1 and never exceeding 1 caregiver per 8 children, with even smaller toddler groups in dedicated rooms.

Yes, outdoor play is part of every day at Wallaby, using a fenced, monitored playground as an extension of the classroom.

Most families bring a labeled change of clothes, any comfort item their child likes, and season-appropriate outdoor gear. Staff can walk you through anything specific to your child’s age group during enrollment, and a tour beforehand helps make the first day feel familiar.

Daily Life & Safety

Health, safety, and communication day to day.

Wallaby follows clear illness and exclusion rules set by local health agencies. Children with contagious symptoms stay home until symptom-free for at least 24 hours.

Access is controlled with a secure entry system and locked exterior doors. Only authorized staff and registered parents can enter, and fenced playgrounds are monitored.

Wallaby keeps an open line of communication with families through daily updates and direct conversations with teachers and staff, so you’re never left guessing how your child’s day went.

Low staff turnover and small groups mean children generally see the same familiar teachers day to day, which is part of how Wallaby keeps care personal.

A labeled change of clothes, any comfort item your child likes, and season-appropriate outdoor gear are a good start. Staff can confirm anything specific to your child’s age group during enrollment.

Scheduling & Tuition

Flexibility, cost, and how to get started.

Yes. Alongside full-time care, Wallaby offers part-time scheduling with a 2 day-per-week minimum, based on current classroom availability.

Tuition at Wallaby is transparent and mostly all-inclusive, covering daily learning materials, snacks, and core curriculum activities, with no surprise fees.

Many Boise-area families offset childcare costs through programs like the Idaho Child Care Program (ICCP). Ask Wallaby staff about eligibility and how to apply.

Call 208-336-0662 or request a free tour online. Because space is limited by classroom ratios, current availability is confirmed by phone or during your visit.
